CPR (Critical Prayer Requests) for CHINA
The nation:
We pray that China's leaders, in particular President Hu Jintao, will see that religious freedom is not a bad thing, and, indeed can be a good thing.
Give, O Lord, freedom so China's house-church believers may worship without fear or danger, so that Bibles and theological study will be accessible to all who desire them, and so China's evangelists may witness freely and safely across that great country.
The Church:
We praise You, Lord, for continued church growth in the midst of oppression and suffering. Please find a way to provide more Bibles and train more pastors and teachers to disciple the estimated 20,000 per day that come to You and confess You as Savior and Lord.
We ask You to protect the courageous house-church believers who risk beatings and imprisonment every time they meet to worship or pray, and every time they witness for Christ
Please heal the physical and emotional wounds of imprisoned believers, and let Your ever-present Holy Spirit comfort and counsel their hearts.
We pray especially for Pastor Gong Shengliang (51), imprisoned for life, and for Pastor Zhang Rongliang (53), leader of the 10-million-strong China for Christ house-church network, who was arrested a year ago, and his life is greatly at risk. Comfort, sustain and deliver these believers who suffer greatly because they refuse to compromise their faith.
CPR (Critical Prayer Requests) for INDONESIA
The nation:
We pray for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Vice President Jusuf Kalla, that they might be Your instruments to enforce constitutional religious liberty in Indonesia. Give them, O Lord, the moral conviction and strength to implement true justice.
We pray that the courts will not be intimidated by militant Islam, that judges will render constitutional justice, and that the police and military will defend all those falsely accused.
We pray that Indonesian authorities might take true steps against the inroads of corruption, terrorism, and radical Islam, and courageously halt the movement of small arms and explosives into areas where Christians reside.
The Church:
O Lord, while many in the Muslim community want to live in peace with their neighbors and are confused by all this militant talk of jihad, let the Church shine brightly and witness boldly, so Muslims will come in ever greater numbers to You, Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Lord Jesus, befriend Dr. Rebecca Zakaria, Mrs. Ratna Bangun and Mrs. Eti Pangesti in prison, and supply their need for adequate food, water, clothing, health, and spiritual encouragement. May they be a witness to all around them, and deliver them from bonds quickly.
O God, frustrate the ways of the wicked (Psalm 146:9), and protect the churches, pastors, evangelists, Christian leaders and all believers in these days of terror and jihad.
CPR (Critical Prayer Requests) for NORTH KOREA
The nation:
God Almighty, we pray that You might open doors politically or supernaturally, for the Spirit of Christ to infiltrate this nation with the gospel and His loving presence. We pray that You, Lord Jesus, will bring justice, righteousness, healing, comfort, abundant life and salvation to the people, freedom to the prisoners, and healing to the land. Cause President Kim Il Jong to bow his knee before You. (That is, "KIM IL JONG")
The Church:
Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, comfort these cruelly and extremely abused believers, especially those who suffer in horrendous prison labor camps. Also assist, counsel and guard also those who meet secretly in underground house churches. May your Holy Spirit transcend political strongholds to preserve and strengthen these saints in their precious faith.
CPR (Critical Prayer Requests) for PAKISTAN
The nation:
Almighty God, author and giver of the holy law on Mount Sinai, give strength and resolve to those in the Pakistani government to pursue justice and security for all Pakistani people, regardless of religion.
Move in a sovereign way to remove the anti-Blasphemy Law, and cause judges, the police, the military, and all authorities to stop extreme, militant Islam and anti-Christian hate movements.
The Church:
Lord Jesus, protect Your children in Pakistan, especially pastors and evangelists, who are targeted by radical Muslims, and women and girls, who are frequently violated by Muslim overlords.
Let Your children stand boldly as Christ's representatives in an increasingly hostile environment; and may their witness be effective in leading many disillusioned Pakistanis to Christ. Supply them with food and aid that they may show acts of mercy in the aftermath of the Kashmir earthquake.
CPR (Critical Prayer Requests) for VIETNAM
The nation:
Lord Jesus, You said if any man comes to You he will be truly free. We know that is true in the spiritual realm, but our Vietnamese brothers and sisters are suffering in great bondage to atheistic and anti-Christian leaders. Open the eyes of government leaders, O Lord, at the national, state, county and local levels, so they will realize that Christianity is not their enemy, but that You can be their Friend and Helper.
The Church:
Surround all of Vietnam's oppressed, persecuted and imprisoned believers and their families with the peace of God that passes understanding, and supply them their needs.
Bring healing, courage and grace for all those who suffer or have suffered violence at the hands of Vietnamese officials on account of their faith. Help them shine as lights in the darkness, displaying the likeness of Christ to all they meet.
